You want to live a healthier life, but feel overwhelmed by the prospect of overhauling all of your meals or creating an intense workout regimen that you know you won't stick with. Here's the thing -- you don't HAVE to make major changes to see major results. Incorporating small changes into your daily routine is the best way to set yourself up for success when it comes to reaching your health and fitness goals.

Today I’m sharing 17 simple tips for living a healthier life that I hope will empower you to feel like you can make these small changes to work towards a healthier and happier you! 🙂

17 tips for living a healthier life:

  1. Drink more water. Over 60% of our bodies are made up of water and we need to make sure we replenish it!
  2. Get the amount of sleep you need to feel well-rested. Whether that’s 6 or 9 hours a night, get to bed when you need to so you can feel rested and ready to tackle the day when you wake up in the morning. Having a comfy bed can definitely improve your sleep, I recommend a memory foam mattress.
  3. Find more ways to incorporate natural products into your life. There are many natural products that can take the place of several others products you already use, and are cheaper too! For example – my 17 favorite ways to use coconut oil.
  4. Cut down on the amount of processed foods you are eating. A simple switch would be trading in canned vegetables for fresh ones.
  5. Sneak more exercise into your day. Even if that means parking on the opposite end of the shopping mall to force yourself to walk more, or taking the stairs when you can. A few extra minutes a day can add up!
  6. Let go of the negative people in your life. You will be amazed how much better you feel once you stop wasting your energy on toxic people.
  7. Eat brightly colored foods. Fruits and veggies that are brightly colored are usually packed with antioxidants.
  8. Find what motivates you in life. Read why finding your “why?” is so important.

    Great tips! I really need to work on unplugging more. I can tell I sleep better when I’m off a screen for awhile before bed, but it just doesn’t seem to ever work out that way.

    I’m already doing most of these. What was most helpful was the alternatives to energize yourself. I’ve only used coffee and exercise. I also need to nix the sugar, I’ve been working on eliminating extra sugar and actually use agave or honey to sweeten my coffee!

    Love this! I actually stopped restocking my sugar supply when I’d run out. I have no brown sugar, white sugar, or powdered sugar in my pantry anymore lol it’s the only way I could cut back! If I want a treat I buy a premade single portion so that I don’t end up eating an entire pan of brownies! This helped be tons since I have like zero self control lol

    The idea of raising kids how we were raised is awesome but parents need to keep in mind not every community is safe for this concept. Honestly I wouldn’t want my kids unsupervised around some of the other kids and people in the world.     When I was a child my parents had close friends that we visited often. Both our houses were middle class and children played outside. To reach the friends house we had to go through Beverly Hills where the houses are large and beautiful, but not a child in sight.     I swear it’s like you’re in my brain. Just today my scratchy throat started and I said to my husband, “I’m not getting enough sleep! I’m run down!     All great suggestions. My husband and I go for a run wherever we travel. Other than our running shoes and clothing, there is no special equipment required. I remember years ago, folks thought we were odd to worry about exercising while travelling. But to us, not exercising would be the equivalent of saying let’s take a holiday from brushing our teeth.
