Where did April go? I feel like I say this every month, but time is truly being stolen from me lately. Although my whole house has been sick this past week, so summer can definitely start to settle in as far as I’m concerned. It started with Little Miss on Saturday, and then by Tuesday I was out for the count and my hubby came down with it on Wednesday. I’m sick of being sick so many times already this year! Any remedies you use to ward off sickness in your house? Please do share them with me! [Read more…]
Enjoying The Season of Life You’re In
Lately I’ve been struggling a lot with being able to fully enjoy this season of life I’m currently in. There is always something that needs to be maintained or cleaned in our house, as well as freelance work that I need to get done, on top of taking care of Little Miss during the day. It’s not that I’m unable to handle everything on my plate, but that by “doing it all”, I find myself not really enjoying it all as much as I should.
Don’t get me wrong, I consider myself to be a very happy person in general, I just don’t think that I enjoy living in the moment as much as I should. It’s funny because I’ve always looked forward to this current season of my life where I would have my own family, home, and work that I love. So why am I not enjoying it as much as I should be? Pros and Cons of Living at Home During College
My college experience was probably very different than the typical college student’s. For the majority of my time in school, I lived at my parents’ house and commuted. There are some definite pros and cons to living at home during college, and I wanted to share my experience to help any soon-to-be college students that are trying to figure out if living at home might be the right decision for them. College was really hard and I’m really glad I found websites with college thesis papers for sale. These really helped me out and furthered my learning. [Read more…]
How Do You Measure Success?
When you think of being considered successful, what picture is painted in your mind? Everyone has a very different answer to that question. Success can be measured in a lot of different ways, and one person’s definition of success can be the exact opposite of the individual sitting next to them. [Read more…]
Habits for Happiness
Lately I’ve been doing a lot of thinking about what makes happy people so darn happy. I know it has nothing to do with wealth or possessions, but I wanted to dig a little bit deeper and get down to the key components of what truly makes someone happy. Who wouldn’t want to know the secrets of living a happier life?
When I think of the happiest people I know, there are a few key traits and habits that come to mind about each of them that seem to be pretty consistent across the board. I’ve compiled a list of these habits, as well as different strategies for how to go about achieving them in your own life. I’ve been trying to adopt more of these habits myself and have experienced more overall happiness as an immediate result.
Perhaps some of these might be obvious ways to achieve happiness, but I know that I can lose sight of these myself when life gets busy and I get caught up in the day-to-day craziness. It’s always good to have gentle reminders.
Here are some great habits for happiness, as well as tips for how to help you implement them in your own life! [Read more…]
Inspiring Ideas – Weekend Reads
I hope your week was a productive one and that you have some fabulous plans for this weekend. After multiple Easter gatherings last weekend with each of our families, I am ready to relax and get some things done around the house this weekend. Little Miss has been wanting to walk in the worst way, which has led to a few tumbles lately. She is keeping me on my toes for sure! 9 months has proved to be quite a fun age though, and I’m looking forward to all of the adventure that is opened up to us by her being able to walk. I see lots of playground, park, and lake time in store for us in the coming warmer months and couldn’t be any more excited for it!
I’m sharing some of my favorite blog posts from the past few of weeks. Fix yourself a beverage of your choice, kick back, and enjoy!
Ways to Be Fully Present
With juggling my business, my family, and all of the other responsibilities I have, I often have a difficult time with being fully present. I am guilty of daydreaming when I should be focused on the task at hand, looking at my phone while also having a conversation, and allowing myself to become caught up in multitasking and rushing through my to-do list. More often than not, I’m not 100% engaged in any given moment. [Read more…]
How I Bought a House at 22
We just recently passed the 3 year anniversary of when we purchased our first (and current) home, and it’s crazy to think how quickly that time has passed by. It got me thinking about the experience we had purchasing our home as young adults and how we managed to pull it off while also planning our wedding at the same time.
March Update & April Goals
After bombing on my February goals, I’m excited to share my progress in reaching most of my March goals! [Read more…]
A Day in the Life of a Work-From-Home Mom
I always find it fascinating to read about how other people spend their day, or what their typical schedule looks like. I can’t be the only stalker nosy one out there, right? I thought it would be fun to share my own day in the life of what my schedule has been lately.
Right now I’m self-employed and work from home while also taking care of Little Miss (LM), my 9-month-old daughter. I don’t send her to daycare or hire any babysitters, so I manage to bring a part-time income into our home while still getting to be a stay-at-home Mom.
While it’s certainly not easy, I love my work and I love being able to be at home with my baby girl even more. I know that being a work-from-home Mom is not for everyone, but for anyone wondering how it’s possible to juggle work and a baby simultaneously, this is proof that it can be done. [Read more…]
