Tips for Saving Money When Hosting a Party
This past weekend we finally celebrated Little Miss’s 1st birthday with our families! She was sick on the original party date so we had to reschedule for a week later, but ended up having even more family members able to attend once we changed the date so it actually worked out better for everyone!
We had a great time seeing everyone and it made her birthday a bit more “official” feeling. Although I’ve hosted parties before, this was the first time I’d ever pulled off a birthday party like this entirely on my own. [Read more…]
Lessons I’ve Learned in My First Year of Motherhood
Today marks exactly one year so far into my journey of motherhood. Little Miss came into our lives the morning of June 23rd, 2014 and I haven’t been the same since.
Motherhood has so far been the most joyful, heart wrenching, and humbling experience of my entire life. The highs are beyond that of which I could ever imagine heaven to be, and the lows feel like your heart is being crushed into a million pieces that will never be able to be put together again. Five Friday Favorites
The happiest of Fridays to you!
Hope you had a fabulous week and are gearing up to have a great weekend too. I’m doing something a bit different today and sharing some of my favorites from this past week. I was inspired by Five Friday Favorites that Ali over at Anything You Want shared last week, and decided to shake it up a little bit and create my own version of some Friday favorites to share! Summer Bucket List
With summer just around the corner, I am really looking forward to creating some fun memories with my little family in the upcoming months. Summer has always been my absolute favorite time of year. Perhaps it’s because I’m a summer baby (born in August), but I’m hoping my Little Miss (who was born in June) loves summer just as much as her Mama always has! [Read more…]
Enjoying The Season of Life You’re In
Lately I’ve been struggling a lot with being able to fully enjoy this season of life I’m currently in. There is always something that needs to be maintained or cleaned in our house, as well as freelance work that I need to get done, on top of taking care of Little Miss during the day. It’s not that I’m unable to handle everything on my plate, but that by “doing it all”, I find myself not really enjoying it all as much as I should.
Don’t get me wrong, I consider myself to be a very happy person in general, I just don’t think that I enjoy living in the moment as much as I should. It’s funny because I’ve always looked forward to this current season of my life where I would have my own family, home, and work that I love. So why am I not enjoying it as much as I should be? Pros and Cons of Living at Home During College
My college experience was probably very different than the typical college student’s. For the majority of my time in school, I lived at my parents’ house and commuted. There are some definite pros and cons to living at home during college, and I wanted to share my experience to help any soon-to-be college students that are trying to figure out if living at home might be the right decision for them. College was really hard and I’m really glad I found websites with college thesis papers for sale. These really helped me out and furthered my learning. [Read more…]
How I Bought a House at 22
We just recently passed the 3 year anniversary of when we purchased our first (and current) home, and it’s crazy to think how quickly that time has passed by. It got me thinking about the experience we had purchasing our home as young adults and how we managed to pull it off while also planning our wedding at the same time.
March Update & April Goals
After bombing on my February goals, I’m excited to share my progress in reaching most of my March goals! [Read more…]
A Day in the Life of a Work-From-Home Mom
I always find it fascinating to read about how other people spend their day, or what their typical schedule looks like. I can’t be the only stalker nosy one out there, right? I thought it would be fun to share my own day in the life of what my schedule has been lately.
Right now I’m self-employed and work from home while also taking care of Little Miss (LM), my 9-month-old daughter. I don’t send her to daycare or hire any babysitters, so I manage to bring a part-time income into our home while still getting to be a stay-at-home Mom.
While it’s certainly not easy, I love my work and I love being able to be at home with my baby girl even more. I know that being a work-from-home Mom is not for everyone, but for anyone wondering how it’s possible to juggle work and a baby simultaneously, this is proof that it can be done. [Read more…]
