Friday Favorites

September 25 by Christina Tiplea Filed Under: My Life, Weekend Reads

Friday FavoritesHappy Friday, Friends!

It’s been awhile since I’ve done a Friday Favorites post, so I thought it was overdue. I always have a lot of fun putting these together.

I also realize that I still owe you all a trip recap from our road trip earlier this month. I’m the worst at sorting through pictures and still need to go through all of the ones that my hubby and I took on our phones, in addition to the several hundred on our actual camera. Does anyone else procrastinate when it comes to getting pictures organized? I think it drives our families nuts too because I’m never on top of it when it comes to giving them updated pictures of Little Miss…whoops!

Not trying to get off topic here, but just know that I will eventually share some more details and pictures of our trip. I’m not trying to leave you in the lurk, I promise πŸ˜‰ .

Now, let’s jump into some favorites!

Here are some of my favorite finds this week:

1. Clutter Busting Resource

As I mentioned in Monday’s post, I have been on a decluttering mission in our house lately. My office has been one of the biggest dumping grounds that has seemed to accumulate not just any old clutter, but paperwork clutter galore. Paper clutter is the worst type of clutter to deal with if you ask me!

It always takes me forever to sort through, trying to figure out what I should be keeping or what should go. And then once I do figure out what needs to be kept, I always have a tough time trying to figure out how to best organize it all. I’ve been thinking of going almost completely paperless for awhile now, and have found The Paperless Home to be a great resource for guiding me through the process.ThePaperlessHome

I’ve just recently started diving into it, but I’m excited to share more details about my experience with going paperless. Look out for a full post on that sometime in the coming weeks. And if you want to join me in my paperless mission, feel free to check out The Paperless Home yourself and shoot me an email at embracesimple {at} gmail {dot} com, so we can share our progress with one another and help hold each other accountable with going the paperless route! πŸ™‚

3. Inspirational quote

I re-found this pin that I had saved on Pinterest a few weeks ago and feel like it’s really good timing for me right now. I think sometimes we can become caught up in trying to be portrayed as someone without flaws or who gracefully handles everything on their plate with ease. And that approach only closes you off from the world, trying to be something you’re not. I’m going to try to “be more me” from now on and see how that allows me to be more open to real relationships and more raw, flawed experiences.

I love the idea of going paperless – I had no idea there was a book about it (of course I never looked). One thing I always worry about is the back-up part of that, or how to share it with my husband so he isn’t left clueless if something bad happens to me.

Yes! The couple at just a girl and her blog (Donnie & Abby) wrote it. It’s fabulous! I’ll be sharing more details about the backing up process πŸ™‚

Good luck on the decluttering! As much as I love technology, I’m not sure I’m ready to go paperless. You’ll have to report back and let us know how it goes πŸ™‚

Oooo I totally need to go paperless. I am the worst about all of that stuff (just ask my husband). I’m pretty sure some of my bank accounts are still associated with my parent’s address from 10 years ago. It’s bad. When we bought our washer/dryer, my CC kept getting declined because I couldn’t remember which zip code it was associated with. Ay ay ay. Keep me posted on how this works for you!!

This weekend we are laying low. Maisie was up all night, and Cami woke up with a fever and stomach bug. She’s home with me today. Poor thing. So this weekend is dedicated to getting caught up on life and resting! You have any plans?!

Paperless! Yes! I try NEVER to print anything out. It makes life easier and it’s cheaper as well. Win. Win.

Definitely Will! I’m a paper lover by nature. I really love having my to-do lists on a notepad everyday, but I’m trying to get the rest of my life digital as much as possible. I know I won’t be able to go 100%, but I’m trying to get to at least 95! πŸ™‚

Here in NC it’s rainy and dreary. I plan on cleaning my daughter’s room and going through her too little clothes, helping my son with his book report, getting in a good run (rain or shine), and tying an Olive Garden Gnocchi soup copy cat recipe!

Believe it or not I’m excited about all of it too!

That sounds like you had a love weekend planned, hope it was as wonderful as it sounded! πŸ™‚ Yum….how was that soup?!?!

Getting rid of all paper clutter sounds amazing! If I can find time to tackle some rooms in our house over the next few days, I’d be pretty happy. Have a great weekend Christina!

I would totally go paperless but my husband doesn’t agree. I’d love to hear your experience.

Today I am leaving the house without Allie to go to a running coaches meeting. I’m excited & scared all at the same time.

I will definitely be sharing more Sara! I am actually a paper lover by nature, but decided that I am a anti-clutter lover more, so I need to part with probably 95% of my paper. It’s driving me nuts!

      I’m texting you right now!
